Introduction aux Superlatifs
Définitions de Base
Un superlatif est une forme grammaticale qui exprime la supériorité absolue d'une personne, d'un objet ou d'une idée par rapport à tous les autres dans un groupe. En anglais, les superlatifs permettent d'exprimer qu'un élément est le plus grand, le meilleur, le plus rapide, etc. dans un ensemble.
Utilise "the -est" ou "the most" pour montrer qu'un élément est le plus dans un groupe.
Exemple : Mount Everest is the tallest mountain in the world.
Utilise "the least" pour montrer qu'un élément est le moins dans un groupe.
Exemple : This is the least expensive option.
Adjectifs Réguliers
Formation des Superlatifs
Ajoutez "-est" à la fin de l'adjectif et "the" devant.
Exemples : tall → the tallest, big → the biggest, fast → the fastest
Structure : The + adjective + est + noun + in/of + group
Changez le -y en -i et ajoutez -est.
Exemples : happy → the happiest, easy → the easiest, busy → the busiest
Dupliquez la dernière consonne et ajoutez -est.
Exemples : big → the biggest, hot → the hottest, thin → the thinnest
Mount Everest is the tallest mountain in the world.
She is the happiest person I know.
This is the fastest car in the race.

Formation avec "Most"
Utilisez "the most" avant l'adjectif.
Exemples : beautiful → the most beautiful, interesting → the most interesting, difficult → the most difficult
Structure : The most + adjective + noun + in/of + group
Utilisez toujours "the most" même s'ils ont seulement deux syllabes.
Exemples : careful → the most careful, famous → the most famous, dangerous → the most dangerous
Certains adjectifs courts ont des formes superlatives irrégulières.
Exemples : good → the best, bad → the worst, far → the furthest/farthest
Paris is the most beautiful city in Europe.
This book is the most interesting in the library.
She is the most intelligent student in the class.

Formation des Adverbes Superlatifs
Utilisez "the most" avant l'adverbe.
Exemples : carefully → the most carefully, quickly → the most quickly, slowly → the most slowly
Structure : Subject + verb + the most + adverb + in/of + group
Ajoutez "-est" à la fin de l'adverbe et "the" devant.
Exemples : fast → the fastest, early → the earliest, hard → the hardest
Certains adverbes ont des formes superlatives irrégulières.
Exemples : well → the best, badly → the worst, far → the furthest/farthest
She runs the most quickly in the team.
He works the hardest of all employees.
You speak English the best in the class.

Le groupe de comparaison est introduit par "in" (dans un lieu) ou "of" (d'un groupe).
Exemples : the tallest in the world, the most beautiful of all cities
Cas Particuliers
Exceptions et Cas Spéciaux
Certains adjectifs à deux syllabes peuvent prendre -est OU most.
Exemples : clever → the cleverest/the most clever, quiet → the quietest/the most quiet, simple → the simplest/the most simple
En général, -est est plus courant pour les adjectifs familiers.
Utilisez "the most" pour les adjectifs composés.
Exemples : the most good-looking, the most long-lasting, the most easy-going
Utilisez "the most" pour les deux types.
Exemples : the most interested/the most interesting, the most excited/the most exciting
Certains superlatifs sont utilisés pour exprimer une qualité extrême sans comparaison.
Exemples : She is absolutely perfect., This is completely impossible.
